Best used for:
- Enhancing and protecting indoor wood surfaces.
- Adding a warm golden tone to pine and maple or darkening porous woods like walnut.
- Increasing water resistance to prevent stains.
Application instructions:
Always test on an inconspicuous area first. Apply on well-sanded wood. Apply SOLVABLE® Boiled Linseed Oil sparingly with soft cloth or brush. Do not use a sponge. Wipe off any excess oil that has not penetrated after 20 to 30 minutes. Allow first coat to dry (24 to 36 hours) before applying a second coat.
Note that the oil will darken the wood and may give a “wet” look on porous surfaces. Boiled Linseed Oil will impart a darker colour to the wood compared to raw linseed oil. To test the darkening effect on wood, simply wet a small portion of the surface to be treated with a soft cloth or brush. Seek professional advice for the type of wood to be treated.
